The plum blossoms were blooming today in Hanegi Koen, so we (Purr and Mr Snakey) decided to go view them. It was a real adventure — boy, what an adventure! But we made some new friends along the way. This bird was really friendly.
But these birds seemed pretty suspicious of us at first. I suppose good parent birds are careful to warn their chicks against making friends with kitties, don’t you think?
So I was really patient. After a long time, they became more friendly. We talked a long time, and learned to enjoy each other’s company.
This fellow was friendly too, but he didn’t say what species he was. What do you suppose?
This kitty was sooooo friendly.
Some of the dogs we met were kind of mean.
But other dogs were really friendly. This one runs a detective agency. We told him we knew all about running detective agencies, and volunteered to help him with his assignments.
I think this fellow said his name was something like “Pinocchio.” Do you think that’s right?
Mr Jizo was friendly too. He let us eat his bowl of rice. He said he’d gotten lots today, and hadn’t had a chance to get any exercise — so he wasn’t hungry.
This lady was really nice. She spent an enormous amount of time trying to teach Mr. Snakey to run. Mr Snakey tried, and tried, but he never seemed to quite “get it.”
Mr Snakey said he always wanted to be a ballet dancer. But if he can’t even figure out how to run, how could he ever pirouette?
So Mr. Snakey’s thinking of becoming a politician instead. What do you think? Will people vote for him?
We finally got to the blossoms. They’re really beautiful. Some are red.
Some are white.
But oh, wow. What a close call. Purr was having such a wonderful time that she decided secretly to jump out of FDS’s pocket. He didn’t notice at first — then he panicked! Where’s Purr? He studied essays about “Where’s Waldo,” but he still couldn’t find Purr. He looked on the branches. He looked in knot holes? He dug holes in the ground. But he couldn’t find Purr. Finally, he read a short story about finding a stolen letter. He decided he should look in the most obvious place. And there she was!
Mr Snakey explored the plum blossoms too.
And when Purr and Mr Snakey got home, all the other animals came to hear about their wonderful adventure.
